Firefox – Switch – Real Stories – Jennifer Boyd

Supporting Standards

Supporting Standards

I’ll admit, I was an IE user ever since the 4.0 days. Netscape just didn’t cut it when it came to new standards like CSS/DHTML and XHTML. However, around Janurary of 2003, I started seeing the awesome features of Firefox in regards to Web Standards.

Many of my friends make fun of my switching of sides, but most agree that supporting standards is critical to the longevity of the internet.
I can’t stand it when web developers use browser-specific code, and if I have time, I send them an E-mail telling them to look into it. In fact, when I was looking at banks to open a business account, one of the key selling points was a financial website that would work with my browser, based on standards.

Please keep up the work! As more people download Firefox, more web developers will hopefully start to design valid websites!
